1. Choose a concept you want to learn about.

2. Pretend you are teaching it to a student in grade 6.

3. Identify gaps in your explanation; Go back to the source material, to better understand it.

4. Review and simplify.

Nolan Technique

1. Choose a concept you want to make a movie about.

2. Pretend you are explaining the concept to someone with a Ph.D. in it.

3. Identify parts of the movie that were simple to understand. Go back and edit them out.

4. Reorder parts of the movie while playing some backward.
